As a studio that makes a concerted effort to develop trusting relationships with our clients, it’s quite reaffirming when individuals continue looping us into their newest venture or introduce us to their new employer. This was the case with Smith + Davis Group; one of the founders had hired us to brand her previous business. Smith + Davis Group specializes in event management & production, coupled with event marketing & publicity. Much of their focus will center around working with non-profit organizations and corporate entities in community outreach and specific target marketing to capture and engage audience attendance. Understanding that, and knowing the visually savvy partners that make up S+D, we knew they would respond to a restrained, simple, yet impactful monogram set. Plus, any chance we get to interlock letterforms and combine a slab serif with an extended sans typefaces, we are happy. A few days after receiving the approval on the final logo iteration, we received this unsolicited email from one of the partners, “This logo makes me happy!” That seems like an ideal equation to us.
